install windows 7 over windows 8

I have windows 7 but I would like to replace it with windows 8

If you have the cd, just boot from it, select your windows 7 partition, and upgrade should be an option. If you have the download, just run it and everything should work fine for you assuming your computer passes the upgrade assistant (see if your computer's compatible). Of course back up all of your files first. An alternative is to install windows 8 on a new partition or hard drive and set up a dual boot if you want to keep your windows 7 install
